MORLEY
NAGISA KAMAE
ISKAR
JEREMY NOVY

Opening June 1, 7-11PM

Gabba Gallery proudly presents four evocative and exciting solo exhibitions by artists Morley, Nagisa Kamae, Iskar, and Jeremy Novy. Curated by Jason Ostro and Elena Jacobson.

Morley returns to Gabba with a fresh new collection of text art, In All Things Aspire Madly, which channels his street art style onto the gallery walls. Like his work on the streets, these new original works feature poignant phrases, expressive paint gestures and, at times, his cheeky self-portrait. Morley’s words are often funny, sometimes gut wrenching, but always endearing and honest.

All the way from Japan we bring you the adorable and heart-warming works of Nagisa Kamae in her solo show Sharing is Caring. Painted in a photo-realistic style atop candy colored backgrounds, her artwork features a menagerie of animals interacting with delicious foods—a  baby elephant lounges atop a syrupy stack of pancakes while a sleeping baby seal snuggles with a bag of Cheetoes. Art doesn’t get much cuter than this!

Iskar returns from Mexico City with his latest solo show, Sanctuary. Originally featured at last year’s Borderless: Latin America, Iskar delivers a vibrant new collection of original works.  Lose yourself in his intricate ink drawings, splashes of tropical color, and imagery inspired by nature, the artist’s childhood, and the musings of his young daughter.

Beloved and renowned San Francisco street artist Jeremy Novy delivers A Queer Examination, a collection of works focused on LGBTQ themes and imagery. With this collection, Novy aims to empower and uplift the human spirit of the queer community and reinforce its visibility and impact in the art world.

The opening night reception for all four shows takes place Saturday, June 1, 7-11pm.  The event is free and open to the public; no RSVP required.  DJ Jonathan Williams spinning. Sponsored by Auspicion Wine. Limited free parking behind 3125 Beverly Blvd (enter off Dillon), street parking, Uber/Lyft encouraged. Gabba Gallery is located at 3126 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles 90057.  All four solo shows will be on view through June 15. After opening night, gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 3pm and by appointment.
